Tom Lee Park Renovation

I enjoyed reading this article about a newly renovated park in Memphis, TN along the riverfront. It is called the Tom Lee Park and was designed by Studio Gang and SCAPE Architects, out of New York City.

I enjoyed reading about how parts of it was designed to strengthen connection between downtown and the river. The children’s playground is also river themed and the plants were chosen to be native to the local surroundings.  I enjoyed the canopy design and the renderings of the different parts of the park.  I find it interesting that architecture can span beyond buildings and houses and can be a large influence on parks and landscape.
